Annabel Butler holds a BFA Hons (Painting) from the National Art School and studied at the New York Studio School and Byam Shaw Art School in London on scholarships.
A practising artist for over 20 years, she has exhibited widely in Australia and overseas. Her work is held in the Chau Chak Wing Museum, University of Sydney, as well as corporate and private collections in Australia, the USA, UK and Europe.

A regular finalist in numerous art prizes, Annabel has won the 9x5 Landscape Prize, the Glebe Open Art Prize (twice) and the Waverley Art Prize for Oil Painting.

She has been awarded artist residencies at the Cité Internationale des Arts, Paris, the Bundanon Studios, NSW, the Vermont Studio Center, USA and the Chautauqua Institution, USA. She was recently selected in the Georges River Artist in Residence Program 2023-2024.
